Pay Pal is huge... Contrary to an earlier post the banks are not even close to the low rates and simple reporting that Pay Pal offers...During the last seven plus years JRB has had had no issues with pay pal.

Small business (cottages?) use them because they work pretty good and are affordable to small business...And as one grows in business volume the rates drop and get even better....

Trust us you have no idea the cost and rules associated with " simple bank plans" or worse, the cost of card processor services...It is so lucrative for them that we get another "great offer" each week... some weeks two or three.

I do know what it costs and that's why I posted it. I had a merchant account for a several years for my own business. We paid $15 total monthly and 2.09% of each order (card present) and about 3% over the phone.... but there was no fussing wit paypal. We recently switched to square because 99% of our orders are done in person or over the phone... square has no monthly fee and is super easy.... not to mention the order history section that allows you to search orders, refund orders, and resend receipts all from your mobile device or computer super easily.

Have you looked into a Google Checkout merchant account? Not sure what their rates are but it could be worth looking into.

Bummer about PayPal. Square is probably a very good option if your customers are trusting enough to give you their credit card info. There are other online payment options out there such as Amazon Payments, Google Checkout or Authorize.Net

I am closing down an internet business I have had the last ten years and I agree with the above.

I also used PayPal and never had any problems with them.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

The announcement has been made and frustrations vented. I think anything more will just be a repeat of what has already been said. I'm sorry you are having such difficulty with your PayPal account. I hope it gets resolved in some fashion.
