I too must work on Friday, LazyBee. You could do what I'm planning to do in the event of a late arrival, and that is make camp close to the trailhead that night and then pack up and join everyone else in the morning. If you cross over Burrells Ford into Georgia, there is a parking lot on the left with footpaths down to the river. There is no official trail there, but many fire ring have been set up, and I suspect most/all of them would be open this time of year. Several weeks ago, I employed this strategy and was able to find a decent spot within throwing distance of where I parked.

Still not sure if I can make it, but I will probably camp near the trailhead the first night if I do.

    Lazybee,

If the beach site is open that is where I am planning to hang. If not I will probably take the spot Floorman had before. I think you know where both of those spots are located.

    Can't wait to get there.

Looks like I won't be able to make it after all. I'm sure there will be another hang in this beautiful area soon, so I'll try to make that one. Have fun and take pics!

So, how was it? Pics? Anyone get eaten by a wild chipmonk?
