    Whine

    Before:
Ultra lightweight backpacking. It's raining. Sleep on the ground under little tarps. Maybe 40" tall at most. I am about 6 ft tall. What's the point of having a tarp to keep me dry, if I have to crawl on my knees from outside the tarp to inside, where my sleeping bag is hopefully dry? I am now wet and muddy before I even get under the tarp. What is the point of that?

    After:
Rain overhead. Hammock is off the ground. Tarp is above. Mud is below. I leave the muddy boots below, and elevate into the warm and dry. Much better. I ain't going back.

I had that same breakthrough a little while ago only the rain was theoretical. I just hated having to crawl through the small opening of my sculpted tarp first thing in the morning when it was cold outside. Some might call me soft..... I prefer smart

No shortage of awesome places to hang in NC thats for sure

Snickering they pass at the novelty they deem my setup. Drenched back by they trudge, tent stuffed and pack dripping, as I lounge between trees with hot cocoa. I am content that the rain on my tarp muffles the complaints of those bugging out...

    Poetry?

I think that last post is almost poetic. That should be the catch phrase for one of the tarp models: Hot Cocoa Haven, Complaint Muffler, etc.....
