    Insulated hammock

Has anyone ever made a hammock that has built in baffles and insulation? I was thinking about this and was wondering if anyone had tried it. I think there might be some issues but I think a hammock with a srl would help it keep it's shape. I have nowhere near the sewing the skills to attempt such a project, but just wondering if it might be possible. It should reduce the bulk carried and weight, as you would only carry two layers of nylon instead of 4, fewer cords
    , ropes, etc.

It has been done. Biggest issue is sewing the baffles weakens the hammock body. I also have seen the stitching coming undone . WV has the best one I've seen yet.

JustJeff has had success with baffles sewn to the hammock surface with a zig-zag stitch. My first insulated hammock had lengthwise baffles sewn with polyester thread using a straight stitch. When the nylon hammock fabric stretched the polyester thread broke in several places. Interestingly, it doesn't appear to have affected the performance of the hammock. My recent hammocks have used bungees in channels at the tops of the baffles, holding the baffles against the underside of the hammock. This works well, but it's a bit complicated to make.
