I bet he does, the reason why he lays his down jacket over his VB. Then again, isn't the GT Nano pretty narrow? So maybe he does not have much gap on top, though I don't really know how these things work using a bag as pod, vs using a commercial PeaPod. How about you Shug? Do you have a gap on top with your bag/pod system?

This is the same bag being used to create the peapod knockoff in this post.

Sierra Designs Nitro 15 Degree Down Sleeping Bag - 800 Fill(Size: Regular )Price: $199.99 at Outdoor Outlet and free shipping by standard method.

This is a great price on an 800 fill 15 degree down bag.

Nice setup ... nice to see another UL guy in my area
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Incredible. That Nano 7 hammock saves a lot of weight. I wonder if you couldn't create a DIY hammock with the same dimensions and similar weight, too...with 1.1 ripstop from DIY Gear Supply it'd probably be a lot cheaper, I imagine.

Interesting...I have a SD Nitro 15. I'll have to hook it up to my hammock and see how I like that. I wonder if I could add my 3 season phoenix to the setup to get me down close to 0 degrees. It would save me from purchasing winter quilts. I do enjoy a diagonal lay though, so that might be a deal breaker.

And since a link was posted, just a warning for anyone considering the bag - if you're taller than 5'10", you'll likely need the long version.

As somebody mentioned, due to the small size/narrow width of the Nano 7, it probably creates less of a trough than a wider hammock would. I am able to fully zip the bag and then adjust the hood drawstring to tightly close the bag around the hammock. With my lightweight Montbell ultralight down sweater laid on top of the VBL on my upper chest, this seals what would possibly be any little air gaps and provides some extra down loft warmth. I have the Montbell for wearing in camp anyway, so it's no extra gear weight and an easy add on to the system.
