    Tyvek takes DWR treatments

I have been trying a few things to go on the Terra Rosa Gear quilt and bag cover but also on a few of the tarps and have found that Tyvek (1443r at very least) takes very well to the DWR treatments you buy in the outdoor shops. I found that the spray treatment was a little easier and a little quicker then the wash in formula. Both have worked very well and Im pleased with the end result.

Here is a picture of some treated Tyvek

    Cheers

Not totally. Water resistant is a better description. This just enhances the fabric.

    hitchhiking,

Where did you find or how did you color your Tyvek? In the pic it looks to be grey/brown. All type 14 tyvek I've seen has been white. Although, it's supposed to be very color fast and accept graphics well; I haven't found any color options. I know about the Leather dye & the krylon fusion paint methods; did you se one of them? If so; before or after the DWR treatment?
