    Help me customize a HH

    Hi
Im a Norwegian camper who has been thinking of getting a Hammock for a while.
My plan is to order from hennesyhammock.com, but I'm not sure of which body and rainfly I should buy.

The other thing im not really sure abaout, is what kind of entrance to choose, and I really don`t understand why they dont sell it with both solutions.

Is there anything else I need to think about before I order my HH Hammock?

    I am 5.9 (180cm) and 180lb (82kg)

It would make me wery happy if I could get som help

I noticed that if i order now I get the cub zip for free. How big is the rainfly on the cub? does it fit bigger hammocks?

    Welcome!

The Cub is even smaller than the Scout, which I have. The tarp on the Scout is too small in my opinion to adequately cover any larger hammock. In fact, it's so small that it needs to be really down close to the hammock, and only works well with the bottom entry. With the zip, you would need to always brush up against the tarp as you get in and out of the hammock, and that would get you all wet.

The Cub and the scout are not for us though; you and I are too big and heavy for those, and they are really for children or very petit adults.

At 5'9" I think you would probably fit in any model of Hennessy, apart from the Cub and the Scout that is. As for the entry, many people have been happy with the bottom entry, and if you don't get claustrophobic, then you might like it. If you don't like it, you can send it to 2QZQ and have a zip added. That way you would have both options!

You've probably figured out that you can customise your order, and choose the tarp you get with your big hammock (the Cub will come with its own standard one). Pick a tarp that fits your price range, and is a size which will suit you. Otherwise, you can buy it without a tarp and then choose one from any of the other fine vendors around.

    Good luck!

I have a 10ftx10fr (300cmx300cm) tarp I have used for shelter when sleeping on the ground, would this fit for a Hennsi?

Hei Koffar godt nytt år og velkommen til forumet. Tar resten på engelsk av hensyn til de andre her

I belive all henneseys are delivered with a tarp.

I currently own a hennesy ( desert rat - discontinued I belive) with bottom entry. A DD frontline with side zipper entry and a BlackBird warbonnet with side entry.

In the Norwegian climate having bottom insulation is mandatory! Summer or winter. I find the side entry to be easyer when having to deal with bottom insulation. A sleepeing mat will do, but most prefer an underquilt for comfort and less cold spots.

If you go for a Hennesy I would advice going for a side zipper model. I like my desert rat a lot otherwise.

    Greetings Harstad (hjembyen )

I don't know your area well enough to say it but this is my set up temp wise in an HH.

65*F+ (25ish+C) mil spec Poncho Liner (any blanket or light sleeping bag will do)
45-65* F (roughly 15-25*C) My 0*F syn. Sleeping bag no pad or under insulation.
    32-45* F (roughly 0-15* C) HHSS w/o Over cover or emergency blanket+ 0* F bag as TQ (vented)
22-32*F (-15-0* C) HHSS bottom with Emergency Blanket and possible ocf pad in bottom.
Below 20*F (below -15* C) Full HHSS and 0*F bag as TQ (vented if needed).
REALLY REALLY COLD (don't know temp for yet) FULL HHSS with OCF pad in bottom, 0*F bag, PL, and wool blanket with clothes on. If i did frozen butt hang.

    Hope i help out.

If you want the option of having both the bottom entry and side zipper entry, you may want to consider getting the bottom entry but having HH ship it to 2QZQ to have one of their zipper mods done. 2QZQ could then ship it off to you.

If you go this route, I would recommend zipper mod #4

That is an option I have to consider

What are the benefits of using the rainfly that comes with the H Hammock (or other Hennesy rain fly`s) instead of using the 10x10ft tarp i already have?

For a tarp, I love my hex-fly 30D, Swap it out with Zing-it line, Dutch Hooks, and some of JRBs Self-Tensionng lines.
