I shared the last thirty five years with a Peach Crowned Conure (parrot) that died recently. My name is in memoriam to him, Purusha.

I've had this "handle" for as long as I can remember... Back in the heyday of MMORPGs, a group of my friends worked for Turbine, and I got in on the beta of Asheron's Call around late 1999... In some casual conversation, one of my friends used the word "ire" when describing his feelings towards someone else, to which I commented something along the lines of "that's weird, because it seemed like you liked them." or some such.
From that day forth, I've been "Weirdire". I usually either use that handle, or my ham call sign, depending on the forum.
I know, I know... I'm showing my age (or lack thereof, depending on the "old timer" ratio on the forums here).
Short = I am lacking in vertical endowment (about 5'6" if you're wondering)
White = I am of Indo-European (Caucasian) descent, as evidenced by my pale and pasty complexion.
Guy = I am of the male persuasion, meaning I possess both an X and a Y chromosome.
- We're never going to survive this!!
- Nonsense. You only say that because no one ever has.
I'm a retired Navy SWCC. We trace our roots to the PBR's of Vietnam. If you've ever seen the movie Apocalypse Now, the boat that went up the river callsign was PBR Streetgang. It's a callsign that few get to use and I've been fortunate enough to have it.
Hey gang! Glad to find such an awesome forum! Can't wait to be able to post on here and read through all of the threads!
So, my HF Screen Name is basically my two nicknames (Last name then first name nickname) so putting the two together was the easiest solution for a display name.
Welcome to HF, K.J.
Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.

My screen name actually refers to type of rock climbing (bouldering) and the grade (or difficulty) that was my personal goal to achieve. I have bouldered a few V6's, but alas, the V7 has eluded me. I've used this handle for almost 11 years now.

This is my first post in this forum, I will sincerely say that this forum is beyond great, has a lot of information and everyone is very kind and friendly and for me that's the most important thing.
I'm from Mexico as you can notice from my profile and poor grammar,
My nickname is a weird no-sense long story...
So one day hanging out with my friends outside of the house, we notice a car of a friend of mine was with a flat tire, before we start to repair it, the joker of the group got inspired and say to us: "It was The Alliance fault" looking directly to me. It was a very bad joke I know... and maybe you are asking what does that phrase has to do with me and my nickname??
Well... first, my real name is Ali, just like that, then... Alliance in Spanish is "Alianza" so my nickname is like a word game with my name (Ali-anza) that got stuck with that out-of-nothing phrase o_O
And well... is alianza86 because I was born in 1986.

My screen name is one I use on several forums and is taken from one of my favorite books by G. K. Chesterton called "The Man Who Was Thursday."
And... this is my first post!
TLC are my initials, And I tenderly Love and Care for everyone.
Seven was my code term for "I Love you" when my girlfriend (now wife) would write letters while I was serving as a Christian Missionary in Taiwan.
