About 15 years ago I was new to Yahoo and trying to figure out an email address to use. I had just read "Kilo Class", an excellent submarine novel by Patrick Robinson, and there was a character I liked named Commander Boomer Dunning.
Well, "Boomer" was taken (same here on HF), so I added the "BigBad", hence "BigBadBoomer" - it stuck.
Side note, later found out Boomer is the Australian nickname for a kangeroo - guess that makes me a big bad kangeroo...
Mine is pretty simple. I like to swing in my hammock and I am a man. I thought of several other things that incorporated what I enjoy doing such as kayaking, but just couldn't settle on any good names. i.e.: HangingYaker! It was a bit unsettling.
For the longest time my friends and family called me FUBAR but after a while of helping friends watching over them and teaching them everything I had learned via books or by doing. One of my friends of about 8 years said I was there Papa-Smurf and well it just stuck.
Easy and perhaps boring! I very much enjoy all things bicycle related. Road, Rail toTrail and even a regularly (fan) at a local velodrome.
Live in the Eastern Sierra, and was for many years a fly shop owner and fly fishing guide... need to know where to fish near Mammoth? ...or where to hammock?

I tend to play devils advocate for just about everything which people thought would leave me with a grim disposition and I really like to tinker and am always putting something together thus the Rivet part. And now ya know
