You know what’s funny? In 2012 body942 didn’t know if this thread would take off or not! This is an amazingly interesting read. Haven’t read all 218 pages yet but I just might. Reddog (or some version of it) is my screen name everywhere. The dog in my avatar was my constant companion for 6 1/2 years. He was a ginger like me. Every nickname I have ever had has had something to do with red hair. SC because I live there and to differentiate from Red Dog who is already a member here. I miss that darn dog.

My boss bought our crew Husky brand pouches for our measuring tapes. They were black with white lettering that said "Husky". To keep them from getting mixed up I decided to use sharpie to color in the letters. The Y was the only letter that stayed blacked out, I don't know why. Job sites being what they are, the guys started calling me Husk. My favorite past time is Hiking.
I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do. -J. Muir
When the town I grew up in was young it was known as Muddy Creek. That is until the Erie Railroad came through and decided it need a classier name.
But these days, no matter where I travel, my boots somehow end up in one muddy creek or another.
Changing the name won't make either me or the town any classier. We are what we are.
