What does your HF Screen-name mean?

Boombapslappy means absolutely nothing at all. Just though it sounded funny and folks would remember it when I gave them my email address @gmail or handle on Ih8mud forum.

Commander Keen was the alter ego of the Converse-wearing kid hero of the DOS game series (of the same name) in the early 90s. General good guy daydreamer, and pogo expert.

The game was developed by the team that went into on to do Wolfenstein 3D and Doom.

I didn't have a computer back then, and I've never been a gamer, but in high school I inherited a slick little 486 machine that I really loved, and a friend passed me the CGA version of Commander Keen 4: The Secret of the Oracle. What a game!

If you've never played it, it's a nifty little platformer that is worth a spin via Steam or GOG.

It was the game I was (and still am) most attached to. And I feel like Billy Blaze and I had a lot in common—except my Converse were orange, so as an adult, it seemed like a fitting online persona. And thankfully, it's not such a common game that everyone else has already snapped him up as a username.

I developed a fascination with armadillos many years ago and started collecting them. I now have a house full of various armadillo merchandise and a whole ton of usernames with the word armadillo in them.
