Let's see. I was in elementary school and needed a name for RPGs and MUDs (early internet games)... Narksos sounded like a good fantasy name and didn't show up on any search engines (no google back then ).
Mine is the correct pronunciation of the 3rd syllable of Appalachian.

The initials of my 3 kids first names. I have used MAK-dad in the past (since I am their dad), but people kept getting me confused with one of the members of Kriss Kross.
My full name is Sebastian, but I cut it short because people kept on mispronouncing and misspelling it, so it became Bas. (It might sound weird -or maybe that's only me- in English, but in the Netherlands, it is pretty common.)
Because my family name is Toussaint, which always is mispronounced and misspelled as well, I came up with two cent (that's how you actually should pronounce Toussaint) and made it even shorter. Hence Bas2ct.
One of my first jobs after babysitting was working in a plastic factory where we very boring jobs of push this button, stack this.. Because my mom worked there and her friend were in charge, I got the really fun and easy jobs. One day a friend of mine that worked there was doing a pretty difficult and hot job. He walked by me to get some water and found me on a three person job with my mom and friend, with our feet up, and a revolving fan... He called me lil' princess and it stuck! My husband (Then boyfriend) thought it quite funny at the time, little did he know he would be treating me like a queen for the rest of our lives!

The first time I hung it was on top of Old Rag mountain on a well below freezing night. I had thought 'why would I need a ground pad for a hammock...' You can imagine the rest (or lack thereof.)
