In high school, my best friend and I got into punk, skating, and cruising Goodwill for all our clothes. My penchant was for plaid patterned button-ups, he loved what I can only describe as "neo-70's" style smooth wear. It became a game for me to always have plaid on in some form or other, so he started calling me Chad the Plaid-Clad Lad as a joke. Over time, Plaid became my nickname with him and a couple close friends whenever we were on road trips or other crazy adventures together, many of which involved hitchhiking, squatting in abandoned buildings, and lots of other stuff I'm afraid to tell my kids about. 4 years ago (20 years since those days in high school) he accidentally fell from a 20 foot balcony and broke his neck, dying almost instantly. I still miss him everyday. In his honor, I took up the name "Plaid" again as a trail name and now wear a bit of plaid somewhere on me whenever I hit the trail.
I was trying to think of the funniest hammock themed name I could think of. Instead, I came up with Swingking.
Tinkr - Because I love tinkering with my gear!

Mine is that my first name starts with k, my last name has wil, and I picked a random number
CV66 - the aircraft carrier I was stationed on (USS America)
Seabear - My family crest has a bear, so I picked a new mythical Creature - the Seabear with the head of a bear and the tale of a dolphin.
I also tend to scratch my back on trees like a bear...
(Squids will know what old-style dolphin tails look like)
I use it on several other forums and sites, had it for years.

My name is Beau (pronounced bo, you'd be surprised how many other ways I have heard it) and I would like to live like a hobo. You know, without getting beat up by railroad bulls.
I have many hobbies one of which is mushroom hunting and gathering. My favorite wild mushroom is the Morel mushroom which you see in my picture

Life is way too short to fill it with drama
I always wanted a beard to rub when I grew up, seeing as I never grew up, I eventually thought it wise to start early.
I have been a Truck Driver for 28 years, I previously logged in as CZTHDA (which was my personalized plate "Sieze The Day") but my son wants that name so I switched to my trail name "Gear Jammer" after the George Thorogood song.
