Yankee was given to me while I was serving. I roomed up with two good ol boys from Texas and me being from Michigan automatically they gave me the name Yankee. I often had to remind them that we won the war lol. The name was used as my call sign during my tour in Iraq and stuck with me through my time in the service.

The phrase "leave the Bronx" comes from a Mystery Science Theater 3K episode.

Cool Why I chose the name "Potlicker"

Licking the pot sounds like living life to the fullest to me!

When potlicker does show up in the dictionary, it generally refers to ones social status, especially to ones status of being poor and/or starving.....like a bum.

As in, if you were poor you would “lick the bottom of the pot” for all of the scraps and leftovers to make sure to get the most out of it and thus, those who were poor were Pot Lickers.

Wealth it seems to me should not be defined by the number of possessions one has, but should rather be defined by the ability of an individual to derive happiness from the simplest things in life, like savoring a well cooked breakfast, hanging in a hammock and sharing conversations with friends by the campfire.

When wealth is defined In these terms, you will find yourself licking the pot of life to enjoy every last morsel. Thus enjoying life to the fullest!

That's what "Potlicker" means to me and why I chose it for me.

    - Potlicker

Little gray haired girl. It is a takeoff of the nickname that my husband's college buddies gave me 30+ years ago - which was LDHG standing for little dark haired girl. Time has changed the color of my hair
