HH repair help needed

Hi all-

Sadly, I tore a one-inch rip in the fabric at the head-end side of the HH "birth canal" opening whilst attempting an ill-conceived bladder evacuation from inside the hammock.

Is there any way to repair this material?

There is a way to patch it up using nylon patches made by Dritz. You can find them at a place like Joann Fabrics. Read the directions carefully. Works great but requires the proper procedure less you hurt the hammock fabric. These are iron on patches, but the iron cannot come into contact with the hammock at all..must use a pressing cloth. They come in various colors as well. Hope that helps.

If you are under the prescribed weight and really didn't do anything too untoward HH should replace it free. "Normal wear and tear" is fairly broad. HH typically replaces stuff pretty readily; it's far cheaper to make their stuff in China so their good will replacement policy is excellent.

you can use an iron on nylon as long as you use the appropriate setting. mine has a setting labeled "synthetics" its just a lower temp.

there are also those stick-on ripstop patches sold at rei. i have been making my own patches out of ripstop and c3 sail tape and have used that to patch several hammocks with great success, never tried any of the other patches mentioned though.
