It was nice seeing old friends and meeting new ones, but I think Butters made more friends than anyone!

I had a great time. We have to make it to the hill though! What if next year we start at the hill and retreat to the hollow on the second night. We have to carry lots of water up the hill either way.

Bluejeans knows where the yellow arrow is now...don't ya.

Good to see you all. The gear is drying out. Thanks Bonsai for the shuttle (maybe you should do it every year)

I even brought back a few souvenir ticks.

Nicole had a great time. She talked about backpacking again and repeatedly commented on how nice every one was. She wished we had stayed one more night. She now plans to learn how to adjust and setup her own tarp & gear. The Bob Evans tradition brought a nice close to the event for her. She had no gear malfunctions. Her two favorite parts were hanging while the storm raged overhead and watching the antics of the drinkers. Finally, she comment that she doesn't know how she's going to go back to sleeping on her stomach after such a good sleep without any aches.

So from my end, thanks to all who were so social to her. Thanks for the help with setting her tarp & hammock up - Mule & Ron. Thanks to our favorite fire tenders and the new attendees. Truly, the forum has been a blessing for meeting great people.
I like big hammocks - I cannot like.

Well, after two years of planning to go ..... and two years of last minute problems that prevented me from going, I finally made it to the Hang. What a blast! Thanks to Gargoyle for pushing my fat butt up and down the trail and words of encouragement (like " if you don't hurry up I'm leavin' ya for the bears and wolves"). And also for the extra mile long hike in ("I've been here before and know exactly where they are ..... wait a minute, that stream's flowin' the wrong way").
Thanks also to Scott for the ride out - 3/4 mile hike to his car, 3 and 1/2 miles to mine (again thanks Gargoyle, your the best). Found out that I'm not in quite as good of shape as I should be - gonna work on that.
I didn't meet anyone who wasn't friendly and helpful, and in less than a day felt like I had known them for years. I was surprised at the various ages and backgrounds, yet everyone was there for a common purpose and love of the outdoors and lent to a true bonding experience. The mods should know that this forum is well represented at hangs and that the bonding and brotherhood exists in the real world as well as here on the pages.
Most of my hiking has always been solo trips or with one or two others, and I was concerned that a group hang wouldn't be my "cup of tea". Boy was I wrong. I really had a great time and picked up lots of ideas and info on other trails.
To Mule and JerryTheHiker, thanks for all you guys do to put this together. And to everyone else thanks for allowing me to join in and feel welcomed (especially Butters).

P.S. I give Gargoyle a hard time (and he deserves it most of the time) but what can I say. Thanks Buddy.
I'm so out of shape ......I passed gas yesterday and pulled a muscle!

I have to agree. I didn't have any either.
