    Superfly set up questions.

I've just bought a WBBB 1.7dbl and a Superfly from Mat at UKHammocks and am really pleased with the whole set-up. (cheers Mat :-)) I'm now trying to figure out the tarp tie outs. Thanks to some of the previous posts on HF I've set the four corners up with a shock cord tensioner at the tarp rings and lash-it tie outs running through prussics fixed to the tensioners so it can be adjusted from within the tarp. For the doors, I've tied shock cord to the tarp rings with a slippery hitch, and I have tied a 12" length of lash-it to the end of the shock cord with a Dutch hook at the very end. This can then be hooked back onto itself round the peg or up onto the continuous tarp line to hold the doors back. I haven't started with the pull outs yet, I need more shock cord. Does this sound ok? Or have I missed out a fundamental bit?

Also, my Dutch hooks are permanently attached and will be stowed away with the tarp in it's snake skins. Is this likely to cause a problem due to abrasion?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds perfect to me. But you did not elaborate on your ridgeline setup.
I wouldn't worry about the Dutch hooks. I believe they are tumbled to remove hard edges and burs. Good call on the prussic tie outs. That's what I use and like best.

Thanks Taylo. The tarp line is one I bought from whoopieslings.com. Its continuous, with a figure 9 and a dogbone on either end. The tarp is attached to prussics with small s-biners so I can centre it over the hammock. Its quick and easy to set up, even for me!

    Thanks

    Yeah what Taylo said.

I think the superfly really benefits from a CRL. You will enjoy it.

    Congrats on your setup!

Change out the Figure 9s and get the Dutch Flyz, much smaller and simpler. I have my SuperFly in SnakeSkins and then the rest of the tarpline is wrapped up into a bundled up loop (look at JacksRBetter: http://www.jacksrbetter.com/RidgeCords.htm
    http://www.jacksrbetter.com/STLs.htm ).

I've started rigging my new Superfly, I have the tarp corners set up in much the same was as you and am moving on to the doors and panel pulls. How long is the shock cord that you attached to the doors?

I only put on about 3 feet of shock cord with another foot of lash-it and a Dutch hook. I haven't tried it out for length yet but it needs to reach to the corner peg from your corner tie-out. I think I'll need to change mine a little to give more adjustability. I'll try it first though.

Thanks to all for the comments and tips. I haven't viewed this thread for a day or two so I'll have to catch-up and take a look at the video.
