If you go to Google maps and enter the coordinates in the search window like this 36.294409,-83.298383 it will drop a pin right on the location.

This particular place is an area we call Circle Park, it's only 1 mile straight across. There's probably better areas so I was hoping for some ideas from you folks. I was hoping for it to be with in an hour from where I am so I could talk the wife into going lol.

Is there good access to launch a canoe or kayak from that access site?

The area we park in has a old boat ramp there and if you wanna carry your canoe a half mile or so you could put it in the lake there.

If this place isn't big enough, what do you guys know about Hot Springs, NC area? It's not too far from me.

Launch site? Maybe Panther Creek and make a good paddle of it....hmmm...thoughts?
In fact there are many islands on Cherokee...been to many...that time of year could probably take your pic.

I wish they would let us hang in Pather Creek Park but there you have to be at the "tent sites"... I'm not a paddler but it would be a nice paddle from panther creek.

well there is an island very close to panther...panther allows kinda safe parking, the island is not far out in the lake...your choice is hike in possible-better for the non paddlers of course but if it is walk in is it still TVA and workable for a group hang? seems if connected to land then probably privately owned? just some things to check into
