I was putting my tarp away today (after a wonderful night with my new 20* Phoenix) and was puzzling over a better way to deal with my extra Zing-it line. I previously kept a skein of about 12 feet of line on one end for the big trees we get on the coast. I had the idea to use a tube I have with a lid (it is actually a 'preform' that is used for making water bottles, they blast them into shape with hot air). I poke a hole in the lid and feed the line in. It works great. I store my extra line inside and use it when needed kind of in the same way one uses a bishop's bag on their hammock.
Added benefits include keeping the line dry and untangled, the tube makes it easier to feed the line through branches, and as a cool plus the little tube once loaded with line has enough weight to make it ideal for throwing Zing-it line to get it over higher branches when needed.
I was given my preform by a fellow Ranger, so I don't know where you would find one. But once you found a source I'm sure they'd be quite cheap.http://www.chemcogroup.com/preforms/...FQuEpAodxk4sfA
