    Uqp

I received my UQP and ridge line organizer today and to say the least I am very pleased. The workman ship and attention to detail is outstanding. QZ help me pick the color and I'm very pleased the way it looks. Thanks to y'all (2QZQ) for great customer service and a quality product at a very good price.

They are good people. Great customer service and attention to detail.

I've been using one of their UQP on my last couple hangs and it amazing how much heat it adds to the underquilt. Stops all that heat loss from the breeze.

The UQP is not designed to hold weight, but to just cover an underquilt. With that said, with a little creativity, one might be able to attach the UQP to the hammock body with gripclips or something similar. The shockcording on the UQP that attaches it to the hammock suspension would have to be altered so as to keep a pad up tight to the bottom of the hammock. If you can figure that out, you just might have something!

I would go with the breathable UQP. Then you would not have to use a space blanket to keep the condensation from collecting in the foam.

I've used my UQP on several hammocks with several different UQ's including an SS foam and have been able to get it adjusted with minimal effort.

The SS foam pad is very light and hugs your back from it's own suspension shockcords. I would think you could get the UQP adjusted just fine.

I've found you get the best fit by having someone lay in the hammock, then you adjust the end shockcord length so the UQP just touches the pad but does not compress it.

Then slowly tighten the edge shockcords to just close the gap along the edge of the hammock.

IMO, the 2QZQ breathable UQP is way better than the HHSS for all the reasons I listed above.

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes by offer my 2 cents?

This is the coverage I get on a warbonnet black bird with a 3/4 winter 0 degree UQ.
IF your explorer is the same length the coverage should be the same.

anyone had condensation issues with the breathable protector? I'm really wanting one of these but don't want to try it out and potentially dip my UQ in a condensation puddle.

Tim uses his breathable UQP all the time when the weather is cold. He sleeps outside at lease 2-3 times a week...sometimes more, and never has a problem with condensation. ZQ

2Q here....ZQ doesn't have the full picture and I thought I should clarify. I use my breathable all the time that's true. What needs to be clarified is that I also use my Advanced medical Bivy sheet that was made into a vapor barrier for my hammock. This item gets used when the outside temp drops below about 35°. It is a good vapor barier and also reflects heat. I know it works to keep condensation out of the underquilt because in the morning the hammock fabric is damp. This moisture would have been in the underquilt down if it wasn't there. Above 35° I don't use the vapor barrier. I've not experienced any condensation problems to date. The breathable UQP does a good job of keeping the wind from finding its way between the UQP and hammock...therefore more warmth, especially when I move from my back to a side sleeping position. Hope that helps some.
