Sorry to hear it Blaze. There are very few occasions that I'm glad when someone gets the boot. Mostly because I've gotten laid off too many times, first time when I was 22. Got my dream job of working in engineering with and aircraft manufacturer. All the way through college nobody had told me just how many times you get laid off in that industry. I came from teachers where you really had to do something wrong to get fired. Didn't have much money but had job security and more work than you could stand.

Life has to go on, and it will. Luckily I have unemployment benefits for 2 years so I hope things will work out.

Blaze; thanks for the video. All the best for the future. Some folks in my community , government workers, got laid off 6 months before full pension and lost it. There's not much security these days. Great idea with the tea candle. For a while you'll be camping when you want.

I am really sorry to hear of your employment issues, but on a side note, I have always enjoyed your videos and I hope you continue making them. You may feel that they are not of the quality for viewing by the hammock community but let me tell you from the heart, everyone here sincerely enjoys seeing and being a part of the others members lives and times, good or bad. That is what makes this forum and its members special, just like YOU.

The JRB Hood is actually acting as the over the head cover in that setup with the PolarPod (my winter setup).
Going with my HG quilts (summer setup), the setup will need some wind protection in the ends.

I lost my job a little over a year ago. It hit me hard. Keep looking up. My sympathies, man.

That lunch looked really good. I'm always a fan of your videos.

Now FireInMyBones. As I see it, we have lost that annoying part of our life called work.
Time to recalibrate.
I am of in the direction called simple living.
God willing, I will build two small cabins, 8 feet apart, each no more than 108 square foot, on a small piece of forrest land I have in town.
Downsizing.
The way to go.

You sure do manage to find some prime places to set up camp! VERY nice skyline, or whatever it is! Good to see you’ve got your coffee back on the boil, lol Did you put some in your first aid kit? All your videos should have a coffee scene - it’s a BlazeAway trademark. I like seeing the houses you have in your sector, they’re different to here – more interesting.

I was sick during the last video I posted here at Hammock Forums and the people who commented on the video typed get well wishes, which really did make me feel better and get well sooner! I hope you can feel the positive energy coming from the Hammock Forum members posting their best “window opening” wishes! I hope that in one week from today we get another video from you with you in your hammock drinking coffee and saying, Hi guys, I got another job, all is secure again.”

On a personal level (under my skin) I have never been more secure than now, but lately world affairs has shown earths rulers with no clothes, like in "The Emperor's New Clothes."

Cold. You said cold. Man, me hanging (walking, sitting) around camp until freezing, not getting enough energy from the pre fabricated factory food, and then when thoroughly cold laying in my hammock with my feet high above my body.
That recipe is my own and I will not recommend it to any body.
And no amount of down could have saved me.
Hot water in Nalgene bottles did the trick though.

And Redoleary, you are right.
A normal person would be cooking in that gear.
And so do I normally.
