I tent camped there 20 years ago. It's a very pretty place but full of raccoons.
Protect your food as they are very bold. Good luck. Take lots of pictures and share them here please.

I also camped there fairly recently. Trip report here.

I camped at Sea Camp in the winter and there was almost no-one there. We were able to take a lot of stuff on the ferry and then use carts to take it the quarter mile to the campground. We essentially had a car camping type set up.

It was cold and windy but we made a nice windblock for our fire from a picnic table and tarp contraption. When its cold there are no bugs but when it gets above 70 or so I hear the bugs can be really bad. If you were at sea camp a screen gazebo easy up thing would be very useful.

Its fun to rent a bike to get around. You rent from the ferry guys and if you get one for one day before the ferry leaves and doesn't return for a couple of days then you get an extra day for free.

You can buy ice from the ferry.

Some people like to buy shrimp in St Mary's and then cook it up when they get to the island. You get it from the same people as run the ferries too.

The beach at sunset is great. Lots of wildlife there too. I liked Plum Orchard where we got our own personal tour.

Upon return to St Mary's we had a great dinner at the fish place which of course is run by the ferry folk.

It is a wonderful place if you are prepared for what comes at you - bugs, cold etc.

    This is my first post!

When are you going? My club is offering a sea kayaking paddle camp there in March. But they're making it a whole week long trip which I cant do. If anyone is interested in a weekender about then I'll start a trip planning thread.
