A hike and a hang would be perfect.
Would love to join if I am not working the weekend of the hang. I'll keep looking for a date.
I'm not too familiar with any other places in GA besides the AT and a little bit of the Cohutta, but I know some amazing places on the AT we could get to with a good hike.
I personally like the idea of Panther Creek, but having never been there, I don't don't know how well it would work.
"The Road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

This past weekend I took my Jeep up to the Jacks River area. I went up to a small lake called Murray's Lake. It covers about 5 acres and has numerous camp spots around it. You can access the lake on logging roads in vehicles. It would probably make a nice place for a group hang. It's definitely in an out of the way place.

I plugged those coordinates into google and it is the logging road into the lake. You can see the lake on the map. There is a concrete boat ramp into the lake. No picnic tables. There are a couple of cleared areas with fire pits with plenty of trees for hanging. The nice thing is that it's accessible by road yet it's isolated. I'll post some photos I took while I was up there this past weekend.
