How much would one layer of insultax extend a quilt

For instance a Climasheild XP 2.5 oz quilt with M90 good to 45dF.

Then add a layer of insultex on the inside of the Climashield.

    Thanks

depends on the user but maybe 5-10 degrees more
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

The manufacturer claims about 13F per layer, depending upon how it's used.

    IX on the outside

It's supposed to have a bit of distance between itself and yourself. For optimum performance I would put the climasheild closest to you with insultex on the outside.

(however I am not an expert, hyoh)

I made a full length UQ with 6.0 Climashield and layered it between two layers of IX and it's very effective at 27* so far that's the coldest its been for me to try it out. Was not toasty, but definitely not cold at all.

Macentyre is the defacto expert on IX here... due to condensation concerns, I think he recommends it be in between the hammock and UQ.

My guess? 5-10 degrees, depending on you...
