How does the shape of the switch back compare to the claytor no net hammock? Is is longer, wider, a different shape? Does it have a sewn end channel?

FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

I believe the full size Switchback is about 10' long and about 5' wide. You'd think I would know for sure since I own one.Originally Posted by stevebo
The Claytor is the same length but only 4' wide. (also have one of those) The SB is asymmetrical and the Claytor is symmetrical. The SB is much more comfortable and has quite a few more bells and whistles than the Claytor. The SB Ultralite is shorter but I'm not sure by how much.
If you can afford it I would highly recommend the SB over the Claytor. Having said that, the Claytor is a good solid hammock at a very affordable price. It's kind of like comparing a Ford to a BMW. Well....maybe not quite that, but you get the idea.

You are more than welcome. I suspect both but especially the extra width. Much less shoulder squeeze etc. The SB also has a non structural ridgeline to hang thing from...nice interior pockets at each end and loops at each end to hang a bag or pillow. It's a nice hammock.

I think it's the length and lack of structural ridge line. It likes to be hung tighter, which IMHO, allows for a flatter lay along center and greater overall comfort.
Each hanger is different, but I love my tttg hammock. Well built, channel end hammock, that affords some the best features and highest levels of comfort.

I know at least two Blackbonnet owners who switched to the original SB and love it!
The LightHiker is 8" shorter than the original. (99.9% sure)
With the SB you can unzip both sides and tie the bugnet out of the way.
It has loops through which you can thread the spreader bars, making the inside seem cavernous.
That said, my new one didn't come with the spreader bars and I can't find them on the site. Need to PM them.
I'm one of those WBBB owners who switched. Still enjoy the WBBB, but the SB is a much comfier lay/sleep for me.
I can't measure it right now but I know the my full size SB Is either 48" or 54" wide, not 5'.
I have forgotten the length, but I know it's not more than 10' long.

All of the Switchback models (except the LightHiker) are 120"x52". The Switchback LightHiker is 112"x52"
