    DIY clator type hammock?

Hey guys, I want to make a DIY hammock that uses end channels, like the claytor or switchback. I will be passing the suspension strapdirectly thru the channel---like the original claytor design, (not the warbonnet whip like knotty describes in his video) My question is, to make the end channel, do I just fold it over and sew, or is there a way to reinforce the seam? How far do i fold it over--how wide does it have to be? I really like the design, but am a little concerned about the stitches going thru the hammock body. Is there another way to do this? (I will be using 1.9 ripstop) Thanks! SB

FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I just use a roll hem (like in Knotty's video) that is wide enough for the suspension to pass through. I use three rows of stitching. I don't know that it requires 3, but it makes me feel better.
