Where do you stash your gear?

    Hi
Tried to search the forum, but didnt find anything...
Where do you Hammock campers stash your gear when you set up your camp?
On the ground? or do you hang it from the lines attaching the hammock to the trees?
It seems that people around here has thought about everything so maby you have a good solution to this too?

Really looking forward to order my first hammock when they have it in stock

My choice is to hang everything from my tarp's continuous ridge line.

I use my go-to-ground torso pad as an entry mat for the hammock and keep my shoes on that. Then, it's easy enough to shackle my backpack to the tarp ridge line. Any miscellaneous stuff sacks get attached via larks head to the ridge line. But really, once I have hung my bear bag and set up my sleeping quarters, there is very little left to hang.

There are plenty of options out there including gear hammocks! Why should you get a better sleep than your gear?

Depending on the weather. I hang my pack from a tree or my suspension for foul weather

    Gear Stash

I would normally hang backpack on ridge line where the fly connects to it.

My new and future idea is to maybe find a large, light, oversized trash bag and keep everything in that under the hammock.

If the bag has a large opening, it seems like rolling the sides down exposing everything is more convenient than rummaging through the backpack hanging in the air. Also more waterproof than the backpack by itself.

So far I’ve just hung it from the foot tree… I haven’t tried it on the RL yet.

I hang my pack on the head end of the hammock suspension. Safe from the elements under the tarp and out of reach from the ticks and mice.

I made a tyvek gear hammock which hangs below my hammock. Everything is easy to get to and I can
Use it as an undercover if necessary.
