Is there snow in the SHT?

I'm planning a trip to the southern part of the SHT with my wife...we are planning to start at Rossini Rd. my question is if there is enough snow on the ground in that section for a pulk? Also, if there is enough snow to warrant snowshoes? Thanks!

I'd call the SHTA office in Two Harbors. To the best of my knowledge, there's 2-4 inches in the southern part of the trail and more as you go further north. AND, there's trail ice so having attachments for your boots (Kahtoola Microspikes, Yaktrax, Stabilicers, etc.) would be smart. Any snowmelt or seepage during the day collects in the "low" trail and freezes to sheet ice at night making it dangerous and nearly impassable without some "spikey" footwear. If there's enough snow on top, traction isn't that big a problem, but this year is not a big snow year (so far!).

I already did... Or at least "liked" it. I haven't received much help. I think I'll do like Beep said and call the office.
