I'm thinking of making my wife one of these. She does not go camping, but may use this on day hikes or around the house. She does not like to go out when it is cold. She is 4'11" and ~110#. She does not like regular hammocks because they are "claustrophobic."

She likes the feel of the taffeta (tablecloth) bridge I made. I'm thinking of using black M90T against her body and red M50 for the outside. I would rate the insulation to 40F and use 850+ down. I'm thinking white ("clear") endura for the suspension and only a 28" spreader bar.

This could be the convertible she's been wanting. Thoughts?

You say recliner but I see an Ultra Ultra light hammock set up in the making here. Drop down the head end a little, bring up the foot end. Lots of potential in this, great job Otter.

Thanks Jazilla! I said "Recliner", You said Hammock"... I'm thinking there's a "System" developing and blowing in from the North? Well maybe a little more then just thinking...almost done! I will post details this week

Side Note: The Recliner got a stand this weekend!

Thank you for the complements & ego boost! The DIY chair projects (WR 1&2) have worked out better than expected. The first chair has been used (& fought over) on many group hangs, it’s held up very well. I'm hoping to get as much from the Winter Recliner II which has become a "System" since it folds out into a hammock. As mentioned above, I’m working on the Plans, Pattern & “Step-by-Step” for the WR-II (in a PDF). In the meantime, the photo work for the doc can be found here.

Elegant work! I especially like the little battens for the DW quilt hooks.
