I'm sure this has been covered before but I couldn't find the exact threads...I've used the Walmart car covers (grey Tyvek) to make a "kayak cocoon" before to keep sunlight/moisture off of my sea kayaks and it worked well, though the material is a little fragile.
Can't this same material be used to make hammock socks, doors or under layers to hold pads? It blocks wind and moisture, is fairly quiet, and as long as it is edged or not poked with something sharp, holds up to moderate use.
