    Your reference to
    a few lines/dots of silicone
    , as in caulk? I've got an old thermarest as well and it moves everywhere in my WBBB. Thanks for any help...

    Yes. Regular silicone caulk as used in bathrooms, fishtanks etc. Of course, test a small area and let it cure well. Thin applications work well, doesn't take much to be effective.
