I don't think so... especially knowing you

Garmin Oregon 450... I will use it on my boat and kayak too! I looked long and hard at the 550 (decided I didn't need the 'T' version of either of them since I can get topos for free online) but decided I didn't need to be able to take pictures with my gps and could spend the extra savings on charts for my boat.

The blue trail is marked fine. We came out on it. It is very sandy though. Makes for harder walking and bigger calves!!!

Hey guys. I just got the HH back from 2QZQ with the side zipper mod. If anyone or anyones family member doesn't have a hammock and wants to use one or try one out I will bring it along. It is officially Megan's hammock but she has given me permission to let someone use it. It has the tarp with it and I have added woopies to it so it would be easy to set up.
Anyway, let me know if there is someone hammockless and wants to use it.

If you get inspired....hike the trail then save out the .gpx or .gdp file here with the track and a few waypoints for us GPS nerds. That makes it pretty much foolproof to find the campsite (so long as the batteries hold out).

I will check my GPS to see if mine is still in there. I went to the Everglades since that trip and may not be there still. I am thinking of hiking out this weekend and would be able to do that then.

    Hey Guys,
I won't be sharing in the MM breakfast. I'll probably have "cold, stale Pop Tarts"! But, I will tote in a small bag of charcoal if needed to guarantee a portion of Olddog's peach cobbler. I'll also spend Friday afternoon collecting firewood.

I haven't quite learned how to save a track file as a .gpx or .gdp just yet.
Here is a "shared" track link. Give this a try and see if it works for you.
    Lake Wales Ridge
    or: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/1...0z0jBuJ4.gmail

    Here is the .GPX File

Bottom left of the track where it is at the visible dirt road, north-northeast along the water. Then then left turn offshoot to the campsite.

    Hope it helps.

Can a Newbie come along to visit on Saturday and pick you experienced hangers' brains? I may have some of my gear by then and could use some advise and practice in setting up and taking down.

If I can't make this hang, when and where will the next gathering be??

You are very welcome! We may be out on a hike during the day Saturday (need to walk off the MM breakfast).

For future hikes, check the "trip planning" sub-forum. There is one in the Withlacoochee State Forest next month which will be a longer, more traditional hike with minimum equipment (no dutch ovens, )
