    i need a new kayak

i need a new kayak.i still have 4 kayaks, lost my favorite one today.
a long story.we paddled half the harpeth river in three days,it rained
hard yesterday, the flood waters forced us off a gravel bar at 4.00am
logans paddle was lost.we paddled down stream.i lost control with only half a paddle,i threw my paddle half to logan,i had to let my kayak go or my son go.
i knew we could not be seperated.he threw me a rope we made it up a steep bank.its a long story a lot more involved.but being in a over flooded river in the dark hours in the morning was the closest i have been to death in a while.neo

Since I know the whole story all I can say is Wow, and I am glad that you and your son are safe and sound. You can always get new gear, life is more important. I have been in some rough situations, but never in the middle of a flooded river. Glad your ok.

Neo, I am glad you and the boys are safe. I am sorry to hear about your kayak and the jetboil, etc., I know how much you liked that gear, but now you have a good excuse for shopping for more. And your boys will be there to help you. Mule

Glad to hear your doing well after your rough ordeal. Gear comes and goes, but you only have one life. Being a yakker , I have an idea of what you encountered. Your son will have a story to tell for sure.

Neo I am Glad you all made it okay and Glad your claytor is alright as well. Flooded rivers, creeks, and streams are bad at time's and they all show no mercy on anyone. I spent a couple of day last week and and the weekend looking for a young boy who was playing in the ohio river. they were right at the edge of the water is what everyone said. To the river it does not matter so I am glad you and your son are safe and sound and you know the gear can be replaced.

Do you have pictures of the trip and your camps or did you lose camera too?
