Got any picts?
How much snow did you allow to collect on the tarp?
Did you have your RL under or over?
thanks

no sorry didn't get any pics. at the most i think i allowed about 1 to 1 1/2 inches to accumulate on the actual tarp before i woke up and hit it off. believe me that was enough weight in itself to worry me. I do an over ridgeline.
Thanks for the report!
It's important to share experiences of new materials in the real world environment.

May be a redundant question and forgive my ignorance. I really haven't started reading much about cuben material. Does cold weather affect a cuben tarp? Does it get stiff, more brittle, easier to tear, to poke holes through, etc., when it's cold? Is warm weather performance about the same.
Again, just curious and hope this is in the right thread. Thanks.
I personally have not noticed any cold weather affection to my tarp. If anything a little stiffer.
Make ya some cuben tape or buy it. 3m VHB 9460 tape
Ya know Luke, we dodged that freezing rain by just a few miles. I really should have pitched my tarp steeper, I was so worried that it would start sticking to the tarp and get heavy, I kept waking up to check it and was relieved when the snow just slid off. The next morning I had better than a foot high pile of snow around the edges of my tarp.
I should try to get a setup in the yard for the next freezing mix that rolls through to see how it sheds ice.

me too. It really slid off just like sil. does.
