    Sweet sweet tq

Well i have finally had a chance to spend a couple of nights under my flight jacket TQ outdoors and in the hammock. It's a 50* with a couple oz of overstuff. I was super toasty all through the night.

Prior to this I slept under it at night at home, because it was so light and comfy. My wife was getting annoyed with me complaining about the oppressive heavy straight-jacket that is our normal down comforter

Anyway, Thanks a bunch Paul, keep making awesome stuff and I hope you enjoy your trip to the NW half as much as I enjoy living here!

A while back I ordered a 50* flight jacket as a summer quilt (and to help reduce the cold spot at the top of my polar pod) and a 40* zeppelin.

I had the opportunity to try these out while on a canoe trip recently, and was very pleased with both.

I was also extremely pleased with Paul's communication and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure you get what you need.

    Thanks again Paul

Hey Paul thanks for the great job on my top quilt. Haven't got the chance to try out yet. I am waiting for mid thirties to try out in My nx-250, to see how warm of an underquilt i will need. 20 deg or cooler. The custom extra wide and extra long fit just about perfect. Ill find out and post back after the test drive.
    Thanks again

Winter dream 12 vs hanger 12

Looking for a tarp that I can hang two hammocks under (using either 3 trees or the spreader bar "trekking pole" method). I see a picture on the website of the hanger 12 covering 2 hammocks fairly easily with a spreader bar. Would the winter dream 2 add potential additional coverage from the doors or would the hanger 12 suffice?

If it was me, I'd get the doors. If alone, you could have full coverage, even with 2, that extra fabric will come in handy when a storm rolls in. When you don't need them, clip them together to keep them out of the way.

I have used both the Hanger 12 and the WD11 with success hanging two hammocks under. They both will work just fine, the WD12 will have better coverage than both the Hanger 12 or the WD11. The difference between the WD11 and WD12 is the length of the ridgeline, 11' & 12' accordingly. With the WD12 you will have super coverage for two hammock, door can be used for additional coverage or folded back in fair weather. You also will have a foul weather tarp with full doors for a single hammock, covering two possible needed uses in one tarp.

If you have any additional question please feel free to email me at:

Awesome. Thanks for the advice. I'm leaning towards the WD 12 for the additional coverage as well as the added privacy. The only thing holding me back is the additional 7 ounces... but the weight will be split between two of us...
