    locking brummel?

I have been trying to put this on my fixed loop end of a new whoopie and I don't think I am doing it right. Should you be able to pull the fixed loop undone with no tension? I was thinking that you wouldn't be able to.... but I can

    locked brummel

you have to lock it, I had to watch the how to video on this forum before I got it right. You have to do the brummel before the whoopie part because you need an unfinished end

I wish I could show you, too bad you can't make the Merriweather Lewis hang this weekend. It is fun to make when you know how. Let me give this a shot with written instructions. At one end, fold the cord forming the loopsize you want with about 3" of cord past the point where you will part the cord to pass the cord thru to form the loop, you will have about 3" hanging loose. Take the other end ( the end where the adjustable loop will be) and pass it thru this hanging loose part next to the first pass thru, pull it tight then bury this short hanging piece inside going towards the adjustable whoopie part of the sling. hope this helps.

Follow the link Tendertoe posted. You should not be able to pull undone. I think you may be missing a step (the lock) in there.

I certainly don't claim to know anything about what you are doing, but I know that I made this mistake the first time.

Is it possible that the 2nd piece you are pulling through is the short end again? In complete NON-technical terms, the first pull through is the short end, the second is the long end.

Try this one McDonald locking bremmel post 40. This was the simplest one for me, works great and not to tough once you have it figured out.

^^^This. If the lock is performed correctly, the loop can't be pulled out even before you bury the end.

Your mind works very differently then mine if this method is easier for you. It's great if you only have one end to work with, but I never use it to make a whoopie sling.

Yea, looks like I did the short end 'twice! I'll try again
