Thanks Glad to have Weasal along.

We will catch the shuttle in St Louis at 9 AM. Mapquest states 4 hour drive. I suspect we will get there 1-2 PM. Hopefully on the trail at Clinton by 2-3 PM that day. Friday May 1. Planning on 30 miles in that day. First evenings camp should be around Selidina.

MedicineMan is free flowing spirit. Can't get firm commitment of camp locations along the trail. He and Poof have been exploring Google Maps to try to find appropaite sites. He wants plenty of time for detours

We will be taking my wife and sister. They probablly avg 10-12 MPH. I know MedicineMan rolls a little faster. Plan anywhere from 40-60 miles per day depending upon how everyone is doing. He wants to leave plenty of time to see the sites. That would get us back to St.Louis on Tue or Wed. We plan to consult the trail guide along the way for sites and planning the next camp site.

We also will have a sag avaliable. That will give us the opportunity to explore some of the local sites a little away from the trail.

Anyway, I will PM cell phone number with you to contact me.

The free-flow once on the trail is a great thing...and I don't think Weasel is going to have any issues whatsoever. He'll probably be moving in that 10-12 mph range as well.

I just need to know when/where to drop him off, and where and about when to pick him up. What happens on the trail...is hopefully a blast that he'll always remember!

I get along better with people older than me anyways. Do not worry to much about the age difference. I fIgure that there'd be at least one person comming that is in their thirties though.
Eagels may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked through jet engines!!

Weasel should do just fine. He's young (relatively speaking...he's in his 20s)...but I think he'll have a great time with the "fogies".

Appreciate the info on the when/where for the start, and totally recognize this is all fluid.

I'll google the Katy trail location in Clinton, and plan on having him there around noon on Friday. Should give him plenty of time to double check his gear and make sure he's got everything situated.

Probablly will be there to early. I anticapte based on leaving St Louis at around 9AM 4 hour drive and probable lunch on the road 1-2 would be are earilest arrival. I won't leave until we catch up on the clinton end. I can call and give you ETA as we get closer or when we leave st Louis. That might keep you from having to wait to long.

    AND.........THEY'RE OFF!

The Katy Trail Crew got underway this afternoon at 1:10pm central time. There was some last minute issues with the SAG vehicle, but they hit the trail! Sounds like the plan is to make it to Sedalia tonight...about 30 miles. Received a text from Weasel that they'd made Windsor by 3:00 which is about halfway.

    Hope ya'll have a blast!

Another 42 miles down. We crossed the Missouri River today and are now headed southeast after traveling north east for 80ish miles. Those were the 'tough' miles on this trail so they are behind us.

Been enjoying the periodic updates from Weasel. Sounds like the trip is going well so far. Love the pic...Weasel's mom is tracking the whole thing on her facebook page too...hehehe.
