Your choice for hammock fabric is Polyester Urethane coated and therefore not breathable. You will most likely wake up in a pool of sweat. Look for similar nylon fabric but without PU or silicon (silnylon) coatings.

The second choice for the tarp looks fine to me.

I have been looking for a DIY hammock fabric too on the same website
and found this. But i´m not sure it´s strong enough.

To give a indication on the weight of the fabric
    1.5oz/sq yard = 48gms

Probably depends on your weight and if you intend to double layer your hammock. If you're light and you are shooting for a DL, you're probably fine. If you're not a light, you might be pushing it. Note: I didn't do any conversion, but there are good weights/nylon weight suggestions on warbonnet's site under the hammock section somewhere.

Been having the same problem as Dink and Servo. More than enough (expensive) ripstop on the European market that's coated, but almost none that is not. So I started looking on ebay... Anybody know if these fabrics would be any good: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/Purple-L...item415ef6edcc

They have them in many colors. It doesn't say if it's coated and honestly I can't derive from the info on there if this is 1.1oz, 1.3oz, 1.5oz, 1.7oz or even a different weight of ripstop.

If this fabric isn't good, do you guys than perhaps know of a place where europeans can get pretty coloured, uncoated ripstop for their hammocks without the shipping costs becoming ludicrously high?

    Thanks!

It is 1.5 ripstop nylon. Good price too, doubt it's coated, maybe calendared but it doesn't say. Would make a good hammock.

Catavarie, you're the bearer of good news. No clue how you can tell it's 1.5 ripstop, lol. My logic was that it was 2.5 ripstop (because of that line in pink: Weight 70 gsm / 2.5 ounce / 1.7 square yard (you will have)), if there is even such a thing, which I doubted, hence my posting it here.

    Pwetty-coloured-WBBB-clone here I come.

Now to decide which bright colours go well together, because my clone will have an overcover too. Purple & yellow ... black & red ... black & green ... blue & berry ... This is going to be one tough choice.

UPDATE: fabric is PU coated on one side... guess it's a no-go for a hammock since I already sweat easily. The search continues.
