    In your face

Maybe I'm not getting something here, but I tried out my new (and first ever) underquilt last night. I struggled to deal with a bungee cord across my forehead untill I almost screamed outloud. How do you guys deal with this. The only option I found was either pull the quilt higher above where my head rests or lay more centered my hammock and loose that "diagonal flat lay"

    What underquilt are you using?

The shockcords on the Yetis have a reputation for this, but generally, it's because they are positioned wrong. They (Yetis) are supposed to cup your shoulders, so the cord should never really be near your face.

I have a DIY IX quilt, out of respect I will not mention who made it. I'm sure it's not a construction problem and more of a an operator error.

Oh Yeah I have had that same PIA with my WB Yeti. Like Cannibal says. Get it further south from your neck, more on your shoulders or top of your head if temps will allow some venting. Sometimes my pillow works good to push the cord further left. Do not let the pillow or your head push the cord down! and maybe get the quilt shifted further left. All of the above.

If the shock cord is in your face I assume your trying something like what the triangle thingies accomplish. trying shock cord to bring the sides up and around the hammock. Dutch Quilt Hooks may help with this problem of it falling and you could remove the shock cord. A picture of the problem would greatly help with my stabs in the dark on this one.

Same prob with my yeti's. I tie a piece of paracord to the shock cord just above the quilt and tie it out to the side stake. Its tied so i can adjust it while in the hammock and i pull it out about 2",,,,work's.

well guys, I tried to take a picture of this problem but I just couldn't get the shot to show what I need it too. Either way the quilt is susspended by 1/8th inch shock cord on channels. The cord loops over the bunched ends of my hammock. I tried to simulate triangle thingies but that only changed the angle the cord hit my face. I could try to tie it out to the side to something but i'm afraid it will open up air gaps. Earlier while trying to take the picture I found if I laid my pillow up against the cord it kept it out of my face but then I have to deal with my pillow having constant pressure on it.

Maybe try to loosen your Yeti suspension just a bit at a time to find the cord off your face and still have the UQ snug against you.
Check out Dutch's quilt clips too....

I move the UQ higher up and let it keep my head warm too.

Oh I got it. Get a piece of cord with a mitten hook on the end. Hook the mitten hook to the shock cord running across your forehead and tie the other end to your hammock suspension. This will keep the same pressure on the shock cord but it will also pull it off your head. Or you could install a ridgeline if you don't have one and pass the shock cord over that.
