Thanks Dutch! What is the advantage of the structural ridgeline? Do most prefer it?
The ridgeline fixes the length of the hammock, and consequently, the amount of sag is fixed to give a curve that allows the flattest diagonal lie. It is generally thought that the ridgeline should be 82/83% of the hammock length (when layed out flat). So you can have some variation in the angle of your suspension lines and still get the same amount of sag.
