    RAW gets ANOTHER tarp

    Yep, you read right.
    I'm an idiot.

    I ordered up another tarp.

This one is a 12x10 rectangular, cat-cut tarp from Outdoor Equipment Supplier (aka MacCat, aka Brian McMillin).

It's got 4 tie-outs per side. No other fancy tricks. But it's superbly stitched, and Brian was very accomodating.

The only way I could be happier is if it came in brown or green.
    Maybe one day.

    Yep, it's the NX-200.

Didn't bother putting a pad in it this afternoon, as I was just setting it up to check out my new tarp.

    Yep, it's a custom order.
Brian will make you just about whatever you want.
In this case, I just wanted a 10x12 cat-cut with 4 tie outs per side.

Send him an email and tell him what you're looking for . . . he'll get back to you pretty quickly.

I've gotta get myself a scale pretty soon. I've got a bunch of stuff I want to weigh for camping.
It's mostly curiosity on my part. I'm not really a gram counter.

true - I had Brian make a tarp in Black and he special ordered just enough black sil to do a standard... very nice of him.

I just got my new Maccat Deluxe hammock tarp the other day. Finally had a chance to set it up yesterday -- what a great design. It pitches tightly with very little effort, and appears extremely well made. The tarp provides much better coverage than the stock HH tarp (of course). I tried raising one side with trekking poles, as in the above photo, and it worked well.

Mine weighs almost an ounce *less* than the stated weight on his website, including the stuff sack and included seam sealing.

    Great job, thanks Brian!

    Very cool tarp!

Has anyone tried the new MacCat Ultra? On the the front page it says that there are eight perimeter tie outs but on the MacCat 3 products page it says it has six. Just curious.
