    Hanging with the Mrs.

I was really hoping my wife would get into hanging but within minutes of swinging she gets sick. I don't think dramamine would help either lol. On the topic of swinging does anyone else feel like they're still swaying after they get out?

My wife's the same way. She starts feeling sick if something moves the wrong way on TV. Dramamine really helps her out.

    That's a shame.
In contrast, I have been considering hiring a sherpa, not to carry my backpack, but to stand beside my hammock all night and gently keep it rocking!!

    Hm.

That's funny you'd say that, because hammocking got us IN to swinging.

Now that would be very nice. My mom suffers from vertigo at times with moving things. Dramamine helps her a lot.

Lol yeah I don't think dramamine would help her enough. At least she is okay with me going out here and there. While I'm testing it though maybe she will rock me!

Have her take the dramamine a day or 2 before she hangs, it has to work in her system to be super effective. It will work.

Meclizine is available OTC as bonine (among others). Many find this causes less sedation than Dramamine. It also works best when taken well ahead of time.

I do, but for some reason it doesn't bother me. After a night in the hammock, I still feel the swinging when I close my eyes. This lasts for at least a day or two. When I stayed on a houseboat for a weekend a couple of years ago, I swayed when I shut my eyes for a solid week after I got home. It is strange. When I lay in my bed after a hiking trip, it still feels like a hammock. I think this would qualify as some sort of motion sensitivity, not necessarily motion sickness. Does anyone else feel this?
