    Hammock mania?

So I got my Warbonnet Traveler Double Layer 1.1oz hammock, bug net, and superfly about 10 days ago. I immediatly weighed everything and the sum is less than my Eureka Backcountry solo (which is a great tent). I was happy to see that the weight was a little less. I was planning on setting things up last weekend but we got freezing rain and I ain't that die hard. Should be able to hang it Sunday and also test my son's Grand Trunk ultra light.
Anyway, I'm just wondering if others drive down the highway and look at all the trees thinking "Hmm. I bet I could hang there." "That looks like a 15 foot seperation b/t trees." "Any dead limbs?" I'm gonna crash my car!
Can't wait to go out Sunday and learn how much I need to learn!

Oh yeah, I check out trees while driving all the time. Drives my wife absolutely crazy.

Hell yea! Everyday! Everywhere! I’ve had a couple of those almost accidents too! Not proud to say it but I have… It’s definitely an obsession! Atm I’m totally obsessed with camp stoves when I should be saving $$ for TQ/UQ’s. It’s just too hard to save big money… Easier to buy all the lil stuff first.

Yep! And I've noticed that quite a few medians and traffic islands have perfectly spaced trees. if I were a hitchhiker I'd definitely be packing my hammock.

Neighbors yards, parks, trees at work, etc.. You name it and I've looked for the perfect hangin' spot.

I look at every set of trees I come upon and think, yeah, that will work, and even worse I spend way too much time planning to build some tripod hangers like some recently posted about, and last night I read on a post where a porch swing frame had been adapted for hanging, and the worst part is missing HF because the laptop is too heavy to pack for very far. Yeah, I've got it bad, too.
