Hey Folks,
I've got a pair of palm trees in the back yard that are just the right distance to hang from. So, if I want a quick nap, an overnighter, or am just testing some gear that's my go-to spot. Several different tarp/hammock setups have ended up there over the past year with probably at least two dozen nights spent hanging out back. Never a problem with animals or anything else.
So, I just bought a "used once" OES 4 season tarp to add to my collection. Once I got some more lash-it for a ridgeline and some lawson reflective line for my tieouts I was ready to put it all together. So yesterday I rigged everything up and went inside to grab a drink. When I came back out it looked like a california condor with diarrhea had dropped a load on my new tarp (well maybe not quite that bad). The big white smear down my beautiful new green tarp about made me weep.
Before it had a chance to dry out I drug the hose over and induced an impromptu "rainstorm". This rinsed away the bird poop and gave me a chance to test the seam seals on the ridge and pullouts. So far so good....no leaks.
The big question...Do birds hate green tarps, it was just my turn, or was the universe making a comment on my hobby? You be the judge...
