    Mosquito proof?

I had now twice the problem to get bitten by Mosquitos through the bottom of my Nx 250.although the material is fully mosquito proof they seem to get me through the stitching holes where the pockets are attached. Has anyone else experienced that? Thought about using seam sealer to seal the holes.
    Any better ideas ?

+1, they won't even land on the hammock treated with permethrin.

Please let Clark know. What with their claim, maybe they'll pay compensation. And, consider adding to the old thread I cited earlier. It will be a hoot to Warbonnet owners to have a witness that the kettle has called everyone else's pot black.

No loyalty or self-interest in this (double) Clark owner, you see. Thumbs up on permethrin soak or spray.

I've only been bitten when my legs have been pressed up against the netting, when I didn't have the weather shield closed.. Never through the nylon, and none gotten I when everything was zipped correctly. I don't think the "warranty" claim demo is saying would work, as they are just claiming they can't bite through the fabric, which is not what is happening in your case

Strange. I've owned 2 Clarks (NA and NX-250) and have never had a problem with mosquitoes biting through. I live in South Florida, too...our mosquitoes are as large as birds, and as thick as fleas on an old mangy dog!

Are they getting through the fabric itself, or just where the pocket stitching is?

This comes up from time to time, and the general consensus is that you are fairly solidly protected from mosquitoes in a double layer hammock, but there are definitely reports of people getting bit either through the netting if they were close to it, or through the hammock material itself where it is under tension.

For the record, I personally have never been bitten in my DL BB.

I'm with the others, soak it in permethrin, and call it a day.

Disclaimer: this isn't bashing just stating facts.

Its a known issue... As said use permitherin to stop it. They won't compensate you, they may change their date (thats there past actions based on it).

To make it clear- the fabric is 100% mosquito proof. I have been bitten through the stiches on the bottom seam. Only on 2 places along the seam, doesn't happen anywhere else.
I did tell Clark and they replied very friendly, offering to send me some seal seamer to seal these seams. Honestly- what else can they do, the hammock is in perfect condition, well made, 99% mosquito proof and if I seal the seam the problem should not happen anymore. I really don't know see what else they could do to prevent this from happening.
Doesn't happen every time either, just with the mosquitosauruses on the creek.
( I hope you understand what I am saying, English is my second language...)

It may be your second language, but you handle it better than some of us "natives".
I will begin using a NX250 in a couple of days and I appreciate any heads up on potential problem areas. Happy hanging, ya"ll.
