Spent the weekend camping with the scouts at Camp Conawego near Gettysburg, PA. We spent Friday night at the camp, with the boys crowded into the open-air cabins (no doors, vented sides) on wooden pallets. No Thanks! Glad I packed my trusty Blackbird and BWDD Winter Dream. When I went to sleep, it was around 33 degrees and dropping. Got up the next day for skiing and snowboarding at Liberty Mountain.
Gear:
WBBB 1.7 DL
Patriot Pad (army pad cut in half, pieces turned sideways and covered with polar fleece)
BWDD Winter Dream (Patriot Blue)
20 degree sleeping bag from Sears
35 degree quilted bag topquilt
polar fleece top and bottoms from Old Navy (clearance sale 70% off)
knit cap
I slept like a baby. Only issue I had all night was that I got too warm and had to take off the polar fleece. Made a good pillow, and easy loungewear when nature called in the morning.
