    DIY Peapod

I got a 25d rectangle sleeping bag. It is synthetic so it packs bigger than id like but I've learned a few tricks from HF. I had my wife lay in the hammock and I pinned the spots I wanted to trim off. Sewed the lines where I wanted the edge to be and then cut a few inches from that. Cut the insulation close to sew line and cut the inner liner so I can glue the outliner over to cover the space. Sewed the zipper back on and gave it a try. Ended up having to open the space by the bottom for room so hammock could go through. The shoulders are a little tight but is it warm! The ffeet has to much material but will work for now until I can test colder temps. I turn the zipper to the side and pull some of it under my chin so I can breathe. Tests had to be done at night but pics and vid tomorrow maybe. who said DIY had to look good!

Sorry no pics from before. I was so eager i jumped right into and when i thought i need before pics it was to late. Also i had a problem with uploading a video to the forums.

The first picture you see the bottom corner by the zipper. I cut back into the bag next to the zipper and sewed it so that there was a bigger hole for the hammock to slide through it.
Second picture is the hammock pulled all the way up. The foot end is a little big and im going to see how it holds in colder temps before i butcher it. I pull the pod all the way up over my head and then pull the section going over my face under my chin because i like to breathe!
Third picture is the pod pushed down. This is how i get in it and out of it. Stays off the ground and slides really easy.

Dimentions for original sleeping bag was 81"x76" opened. I took off about 15" from both sides at the top and bottom and maybe 8-10" for each side in the middle. The shoulders are a little smaller than i would have liked at 6' 195lbs but it works.

From what I can tell, it looks really nice. Are you still going to do a video for us?? Then I could get a better look. Thanks a bunch

I have a video on my phone but i couldnt upload it to the site. Not really sure how. I'm also thinking now how to widen the top third closest to me for my shoulders. Might have to take the zipper off and sew some scrap on. Will look like poo but if i can move and be warm on my budget how can i complain!

Edit: Thought just came to me the strings they have attached to the bottom for rolling it up i could use to wrap around the feet section to make it tighter without having to risk more butchering!
