organization idea/request

I'd like to offer two suggestions. Could a mod possibly make a sticky asking new thread posters to make the first two letters of a title in this section to be the abreviation of the state name (or country) of the proposed hang? That way we could sort by thread name and see everything in our area? (Example: MI - February hang in Michigan)

Second, the complement the first, could there be a subforum for completed hangs, so that after an event has happened, that thread is moved to subforum?

Right now it looks like there's over a thousand threads, most on trips that now only live in memories. There's no way I can wade through them all!

You don't have to 'wade through' more than the first couple of pages.

We're going to have a standardized title layout for the hangout threads soon, but the mods have been completely tied up with the recent software work and a massive spike in posting/members. We'll get there...just show us some patience, please.

I agree but please keep in mind my entire county is as big as yours so it would also need to be broken down into provinces and I am sure many other countries would too. This means every region of every country where there are hammock forums members needs to have it's own unique identifying string that needs to be documented somewhere so anyone can post. Sounds like a fun job that I'm not volunteering for.

It's really easy for an American to think "We can put the state abbreviations in the title" but what if for once America didn't come first? Every other region in every other country got to think of their abbreviation and then the American state's got what ever is left ... now Michigan is known as IC ... who's going to know what IC is when the first join the forums and are looking for MI by default.

MI is Michigan, ON is Ontario, etc... If the post office can figure it out, I think we can too!

Or, thinking more globally, USA-MI, CAN-ON.
