That's great news, Doc!!! As someone who deals with back pain every day, I hope you have a complete and total recovery.
What I deal with isn't nearly as much of an issue as yours, and I manage mine with daily visits to the gym, but it's nice to know medical science is moving in the direction of successful disc replacement.

Hopefully it'll never be in my future!!!

    Regards

The science teacher in me wants to know... did you get to keep the part they removed? Looks like some cutting-edge surgery there!

Same here, Born Old. I asked one of the neurosurgical team to save the remove disk and pulpous material for me but the message never made it into the OR. I am a college professor and teach among other things Neuropsychology, and what a cool thing to bring in to class, right?

Many on here whom I have grown close to have known about my back situation and the incredible pain I have had for over 3 years. I underwent an experimental surgery not yet FDA approved in clinical trials. I had a vertebra REMOVED and got a titanium spinal disk (To go with my new Dutch Buckles!) implanted L4 and L5. I awoke from surgery with NO SPINAL PAIN or sciatica! I am now ready to hang again and will try to be around more often again.

    Best!

Duuuuude, that's freakin' awesome. Back pain is the 3rd worst pain I've ever experienced behind tooth pain and a passing a kidney stone. Except back pain you generally have to live with for a LONG TIME before you can fix it, if ever. Glad to hear you're feeling good Doc.

You should changed your trail name to Murphy, like Robocop
