    tarp on whoopies

I saw this topic of connecting your tarp directly to your whoopie suspension in the HH thread but I guess it's being forgotten about. So could someone fill me in please. I started thinking about it but dismissed the idea because I didn't think it would work. The idea of placing a prusik knot on either of my suspension sounds awesome I can't just see it and here's why. The two side tie outs. How can two stationary tie outs that are either staked or wrapped around s treebe tied to a swaying hammock? Something would have to have give at some point right ? Has anyone ever tried this? If so .... Any pics?

Having the tarp attached to the suspension can be problematic as it tends to sag once the hammock is loaded. The HH's use a tarp that is barely longer than the hammock to minimize this. They also use shock cord for the side tie outs to allow for movement and still try to keep things taught.

So there is shock cord involved. I thought there may have been. I do have a HH tarp and I'm Reinhold to figure the best way to rig it up.

If your whoopie slings are properly made they should be sufficient space between the fixed eye bury and the constrictor to allow attaching the original prusik loop/hook. You may want to give it 4 turns instead of 3 for a better bite. This applies to the original tarp that came with the hammock not an oversize one. Or you can just hang the tarp on a separate ridge line.

I set up my rig the other day trying to figure it all out. I'm using an eno double with a hypelite tarp. I set it up with a rl but got to thinking is the rl really necessary. I mean I already have one on the eno do I really need two. It's just those side pullouts are throwing me off. Once that hammock sways what's going to happen to the tarp you know.
